HISTORY:
Formerly Rhythm of the City, DYIF Star FM Bacolod started its operation last August 24, 1985. It is situated at Galo-Gatuslao Sts. Bacolod City.
On the last quarter of 1990, Bombo Radyo Philippines' President/CEO Dr. Rogelio Florete decided to transfer Star FM and Bombo Radyo Bacolod at the network's own building which is CBS Development Corporation Building at Lacson St. Mandalagan Bacolod City.
In the mid of 1994, "95.5 IF Rhythm of the City" changed its name to "DYIF 95.5 Star FM, Sama-sama Together Always Remember". But as the new millennium entered, the call sign "Sama-sama Together Always Remember" was again changed to "DYIF 95.5 STAR FM, IBA ANG DATING" because Star FM aims to be different and to be at the top.
On January 9, 2011, Star FM Bacolod moved its frequency from 95.5 to stronger, bolder and even better 95.9 to strengthen its commitment to serve Bacolod through music and information.
PROGRAMS:
People of all ages preferred to listen to our top four programs with mix disco and mellow hits of today: "MORNING STARSWEEP," 6:00-9:00 AM; "STARMUSIKAINAN," 11:00-1:00 PM; "AFTRENOON STARSWEEP," 3:00-5:00PM; AND "EVENING STARSWEEP," 6;00-9:00 PM.
To those who wanted to fall in love just sit back and relax with pure love songs program: THE "IT'S ALL FOR YOU MORNING," 9:00 -11:00 AM WITH YUMMY BEYBEH SAM; "IT'S ALL FOR YOU AFTERNOON," 1:00 -3:00 PM AND "IT'S ALL FOR YOU EVENING," 9:00 – 11:00 PM.
Live callers and those who wanted to share their numbers and find some friends and sweetheart live on air could join "FRIENDSTAR LIVE" every WEDNESDAYS AND FRIDAYS AT 6:00 – 9:00 PM.
To all party people and to those who favour rock and roll music, there is a special program especially made for you: "TWILIGHT ZONE," (EVERY MONDAY/TUESDAY/THURSDAY/FRIDAY) 5:00-6:00PM; "ROCK BANGING WEDNESDAY" ON WEDNESDAYS AND "ROCK RUMBLE" ON SATURDAYS AT 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
Lastly, every SUNDAY let's reminisce the past with the classic oldies.
SERVICE AND DEDICATION:
Star FM consists of nine dedicated and qualified personnel from Technical, Administrative and Production Departments.
To Date, Star FM Bacolod has always been actively involved in the network's various socio-civic projects such as "BOMBO MEDICO" EVERY MONTH OF JULY AND "DUGONG BOMBO" EVERY NOVEMBER.
95.9 Star FM continues to serve the Bacolodnons and the people Negros Occidental through music, information and public service as a way of thanking the listening public of their undying support.
